TRISCUIT!!!! oh yeah thats right, i'm finally here! (if you didn't figure it out by now trish, this is josh) I can't wait to see you as Armitage, its gonna be great. Sesshomaru is coming along well. I feel a little behind schedule because i want to make a couple adjustments to Inuyasha as well and then i have to finish Tina's costume. But with all that in mind i think i'll make the deadline for the convention. As far as your adjustments to your pants you did them right by ripping out the inseam and raising it. Just so you'll know i'll be bringing all my sewing supplies with me for small last minute adjustments and fixing seems if they rip off of something for us. I'm on the look out for your sunglasses so maybe i can help out a bit. But i'm nearing completion on Sesshomaru as we speak. All i have left to do is finish the graphics on the kimono coat and the belt. I made the last minute decision to redo the fur pelt that goes over the shoulder. at first i made it flat but i wasn't satisfied with it so i'm going to rip out a seem and stuff the shoulder of it and then it will stand up like Sesshomaru's really does. damn i'm too picky. oh well i guess we'll be seeing each other soon i'll end this long ass post. i'll keep you updated on my costume collection and how it's coming. oh and as far as my cost and time i'd estimate it to be about 80 to 85 dollars and a totall of about 30 to 40 hours so far.

Sesshomaru is coming along well. I feel a little behind schedule because i want to make a couple adjustments to Inuyasha as well and then i have to finish Tina's costume. So you're going to be both that weekend? Beware, for an army of Inuyashas shall rise up an conquer the Earth. IOW, don't be surprised to see lots of them! So is Sucosa still going with her original idea? But with all that in mind i think i'll make the deadline for the convention. As far as your adjustments to your pants you did them right by ripping out the inseam and raising it. Just so you'll know i'll be bringing all my sewing supplies with me for small last minute adjustments and fixing seems if they rip off of something for us. Good deal. I'll have some of my stuff handy as well. I finally got the thread I needed, so I'll be sewing the shorts soon. Then we'll see how I did I'm on the look out for your sunglasses so maybe i can help out a bit. Cool - thanx! You and Kevzilla (wherever you may be at the moment), keep it up to date here at the Forum about your search - you're both in the hunt for the same item!! I appreciate the help (help from the East AND the West Coasts! w00t!!) but would hate for both of you to find them - THEN WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? I'd feel overwhelming guilt for whichever pair I didn't wear, so I'd have to keep switching and get myself dizzy and fall over and maybe break the holy lenses which were so eagerly sought and THEN I'D FEEL REALLY REALLY BAD. No, you're not!! Being picky is the difference between a good and a great costume. Trust me, you're going to see a lot of awful ones. The pickier you are, the more you will shine. All the photos I've seen of Sesshos with flat fuzzies all look wierd. BTW, you may want to find out what a bishounen is. Sesshos tend to get asked about that sort of thing, and we'd hate for you to find out what that is too late and be embarassed or be stuck in an awkward awkward conversation. oh well i guess we'll be seeing each other soon i'll end this long ass post. i'll keep you updated on my costume collection and how it's coming. oh and as far as my cost and time i'd estimate it to be about 80 to 85 dollars and a totall of about 30 to 40 hours so far. Cool! I'm up to a grand total of $6 - breakin' the budget I am!! Still only at 4 hours, but that's about to change (see update next post). You'll need me to bring the art markers for your face right? Keep reminding me so I don't forget!! You need... purple and a blue-green, right? Maybe red? I'll prolly just bring them all....

Brief update!! I've aquired the thread I need, so I can work on finishing up the shorts soon. I priced silver snaps at a few stores, with one store having the ideal product but in a diameter smaller than I need, and Michael's having the exact thing I need, but in a pack containing nickel snaps as well as brass snaps. If I spring for this, would anyone be able to use the brass snaps? They're not bright shiny brass, more like worn brass, and I think there's a dozen in the pack. Let me know, and I'll be happy to split the pack with you - it'll be $3.50 for half the pack. Uncle Jager finally figured out what he's going to be, and I'm super excited about it because it's related to my character! I'll let him go on all about that though, so bug him about it until he talks! We've already started to aquire the parts for that costume. I will say this - of all the Armitage cosplayers I've seen, I've NEVER seen this character done. I'm really excited! A big HUGE THANK YOU to one I shall call JDIII - this is a friend of mine I work with I've been trying to convince to visit our Beloved Hall (obviously without success thus far) and mercilessly trying to convince to attend AZ with us (again, without success. ) He was kind enough to create a 3D form for the gun for me to work off of, or proper size and proportion as well as weight even, thanks to a cache of ball bearings. He also suggested a material from work (which cost me zilch! ;D) to add a more authentic feel to the stock. For his help, he has my eternal gratitude....... I can't wait to start modifying and painting this thing, and after AZ I want to keep it on display.... Costometer - $6 Timometer - 4 hrs BTW - we haven't even gotten through AZ 2005, and next year's costume is already brewing in my head... I think I'm turning into a junky... ;D

Ghim could be fun, especially if your axe is well-done. The only Ghim I saw at cosplaylab.com looked ok, but a bit too much like santa claus. That person gets kudos though, for being thoughtful enough to have the eyebrows also. As Bateau, this guy had excellent lenses: cosplaylab.com/cosplayers/costumes/details.asp?costumeid=80724 No idea how he pulled it off. I think either of those could be cool - never seen anyone as Ghim before, and the only Bateaus I've seen were poorly done, like they decided as they were getting out of the car to enter the con what they were going to be. Anything from Naruto is prolly going to have heavy play this year, as last year, and there's usually a handful of Black Mages (now to see someone pull off a Black Waltz, that would be sweet). Good luck in your figuring out what you're going to be - keep us posted!!

Here's some links that are relevant or useful... www.animefringe.com/If you go to the xforum link at the top, they have a thread about the con. It's a general topic thread. www.animemusicvideos.org/home/home.phpA forum for anime music videos (in and of itself can be either a hilarious experience, a painful one, or a well done one) with also a thread about AZ since the Video contest is such a big attraction. They have lots of vidos to download, which can be fun. cosplaylab.com/A collection of cosplayers, ya think? You have to do a lot of digging to find the really good ones, but this is a good source for ideas and to ensure that your standards are higher than what some of these people are passing off as "a good job". I may eventually make an account here. A lot of the Armitages looked like cheap whores, and for a great laugh, look up "chocobo". On the positive side, look for the incredible Totoro and the White Out version of Motoko from Ghost in the Shell.

Thinking about entering either Ode to Goku (first video I ever made that came out good) or Voodoo - Kenshin (Not that crap on cartoon network) I'll post up a link to The Voodoo Video I may enter if you would like to see it.

If anyone still finds the 80's squared off wrap around shades, lemme know!
Have you thought about using a pair of blackened safe glasses they may not be perfect but it would solve the problem of getting something that goes over your glasses and something that is square and wrap around.

I Like the Batou Idea- Now we need someone to be the Major and we are set. We got the fabric to make my Alice costume- Now I am looking for the white headband, black boots and plastic knife- all of which should not be hard to find. Josh's sesshomaru is going pretty well- He has got most of the painting done on it at least. Well I see Jehovia's Witnesses have invaded my neighborhood and I have to go to work. **Ducks people at the door***

Hadn't thought about that. If I can't find shades dark enough, that's definitely an option.

Hey Beefy - that guy's link I posted with the excellent Bateau lenses - are those jeweler's monocles? My shorts finally have an inseam again! YAY!!! yesterday I hemmed all but one of the small pieces of fabric I'll be attaching and gave the shorts a new inseam - they are now officially my size instead of four sizes too large. All that's left on those is hemming said shorts, adding the individual pieces, adding/moving current belt loops to more correct places around the waist, and adding the snaps once I find some. I'm guessing no one needs those brass snaps? Ghim may - I have no idea. I also realised I need to cut pieces to add to the pocket area but luckily that's a small easy job. Next item up for grabs: The Gun. (I'm excited about this one....) Costometer - $6 + 1 dinner Timometer - 9 hrs

Hey Sessho - seeing all the ads up top here remind me: how are you making Sessho's fuzzy? How long will it be?
I remember last year with getting pictures taken so often, it's really important to strike a pose that suits your character. It took me half a day to figure out a good pose, so a lot of people had not so good pics of me. I'm taking 2 poses from posters, a front view aiming the gone on one knee and a side view to show off one of those VIAGRAs I mentioned. It's a completely superficial question, but what's everyone else doing for their photos? (Trust me- you WILL get photo'd. A LOT.)
