I made a decent little apple cake yesterday - anyone want the recipe?
Oh wait, I'm surrounded by a legion of self-proclaimed non-bakers... it's a good recipe to prove the world otherwise - it's very easy.

Ramen? Are you refering to that brittle, worms on a hot summer concrete walkway after a day, cube thats wrapped in a celophane containment that includes a foil like, flat mini envelope with a msg/salt based chemical compound that supposedly imitates flavors found in nature and is abhorent to the human digestive tract and can be found by the binfull at retail outlets that sell shoddy merchandise of questionable origin for only 99 round copper discs bearing the likeness of Abraham Lincoln,16th president of the republic of the United States? No we're talking about the other ones... You know the ones right beside those... Hey I'd love the recipe, the problem is I have to con someone into bakin me a pie.... *has an image of Cartmen yelling* yeah....

I like apple stuff, gimmie the recipie. It'll still prolly turn out as a disaster <mumbles curses about oven under his breath> but if worse comes to worse I'll just give it to Effus, for he is fat and consumes much

Spontaneous survey! What's everyone's favourite flavour of ramen? My vote goes to creamy chicken... Hmmm, I don't have a favorite. You see, I'm so lazy, I don't even bother cooking ramen noodles before I eat them.

I like apple stuff, gimmie the recipie. It'll still prolly turn out as a disaster <mumbles curses about oven under his breath> but if worse comes to worse I'll just give it to Effus, for he is fat and consumes much Here ya go... Uncle Jager helped me with the name, so imagine a few accents on the vowels and thank him for something you prolly can't pronounce but we can ;D Alma Sutemeny - 5 tbsp butter, divided into a 4tbsp portion and a 1 tbsp portion
- 2 cups peeled, cored, chopped green apple
- A 1.5 cups all purpose flour
- A 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
- A 1/8 tsp salt
- B 1 cup granulated sugar
- B 4 oz fat-free cream cheese
- B 1 tsp vanilla extract
- B 1/2 tsp almond extract
- C 1/2 cup milk
- C 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- C 1 large egg white, lightly beaten
- cooking spray
- 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
1. Preheat oven to 350'. Put almonds on a piece of foil in a single layer and stick in the preheating oven. Toast for a minute or two, until golden. Take 'em out. 2. Melt 1 tbsp butter in a large non-stick skiller over medium high heat. Add apples and cook 5 minutes or until tender. 3. Combine all the A stuff in a bowl. In a second bowl, combine all the B stuff, beating with mixer at medium speed until well-blended. 4. In a third bowl, mix all the C stuff together. Add the A mixture and C mixture alternately to the B mixture. Make sure to begin & end with the A mixture in your alternating. Stir in the apple. 5. Pour batter into 9" round cake pan coated with cooking spray and sprinkle with the toasted almonds from earlier. 6. Stick it in the oven for 55 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cool in the pan 10 minutes before taking it out of the pan. It's a very moist cake, so this is very important. 7. The End.

I'm going to be hosting a holiday dinner for some people I work with on Sunday Nov 21 since none of us retail monkeys get any real time off on holidays to go home and have a holiday dinner. I'm extending the the invite to anyone here that wants to come since we're still a nice small group. If anyone is interested, please contact me via private message (you guys have seen the little line at the top of the screen telling you that "you have 0 messages", right? ) and we'll work out the various arrangements and such. Once I get it figured out, I'll probably post the menu for that dinner here.
