the other night we tried to watch PERFECT BLUE on ifc or fuse or something like that. idk what it was but the story just didn't pull me in much. maybe it was because of comercial breaks or what but i just did feel compelled to watch the entire thing. the animation is rough looking and the voices were awful i thought. i did however dvr the movie and will attempt to watch it again later. Commercial breaks? This film really needs to be watched without interruption to get the full psychological effect. If it's broken by commercials, I'm sure it's also really edited, cutting out some of the very crucial parts. I have a copy I can burn for you and give you in south carolina.

Speed Racer- Not for those with Medical conditions like Epilepsy. The bright swirling colors have the effect of making normal adults dizzy at times. I liked Speed Racer- not really being one who watched the original cartoon series, I don't know if any storyline parts are missing, but it seemed to have a good storyline, plot and a LOT of action. This one was worth the trip to the theater for.

We have been exploring the world of the movies with the kids this summer
Some recomended movies
Hellboy2- kicked more butt than the orginal. The creatures in the movie were the calibur of the ones from Pan's labrynth. Excellent movie!
Wall-e: Not much on robotic dialoque but a beautiful movie with a interesting enviromental message.
Kung Fu Panda- This one was really short, but still really entertaining!

The Love Guru- Was very funny, better than I thought it would be. It is the stupid haha funny that you don't have to think much about.
Don't Mess with the Zohan- I think Adam sandler missed the mark with this one a bit. There was also lots of GMILF love in this movie too. Not for those with weak stomachs for such, or a dislike of Hummus.
Good Luck Chuck- I think Dane cook could have done better with this one. It was pretty funny in some parts, not so much in others. Employee of the month was much better.
The Forbidden Kingdom- Jet Li and Jackie chan- is there more to say? A must see. Awesome.
Twilight- I liked it, but I read the books too. There was a lot of artisitic lisence taken in this case, but still a entertaining movie.
