seems like if something doesn't look appealing, cooking isn't going to help it any.... Are you thinking Arbys? Amen to that! I know there are some deicated Arby fans out there so sorry about this: I never knew something as good as a roast beef sandwich could be disgusting. It is scary to me because making a roast beef sandiwch isn't that hard to make and they are naturally good. They must work at making those sandwiches disgusting and by the taste they must work really hard at it. I've only eaten at Arby's once in my life time and after that I seriously considered going vegan, which is absolutely unspeakable to me!

Yeah I don't see the appeal either, we only at there once, when we first moved here. Plus, there are certain cuts of meat I don't like cold and roast beef is one of them.

But in what quanitities would the hot dogs, salted dry fish, and soy sauce cause cancer? Tons or gallons, yeah, but what substance wouldn't cause some physiological malfunction when injested in quantity? I doubt the 5 or Ball Parks I eat a year are a problem... now if I ate them daily... then yeah I'd have issues, but everything's toxic in one way or another, so you may as well just moderate and enjoy it since we're all going to end up pushing daisies anyways.....

You know when you eat a steak, hamburger, or chicken that's cooked fairly well and there are those black burned bits on it? Those are carcinogenic. I wouldn't worry cuz science will keep us alive until we're all old and wrinkly and past our sell-by date anyway.

I wouldn't worry cuz science will keep us alive until we're all old and wrinkly and past our sell-by date anyway. All those picky little kids that won't eat anything with "black stuff" on it - maybe they're onto something. That isn't picky brattiness they are indulging in, but expressing some sort of instinctive self-preservation that we've grown oblivious to as we aged. We instinctively knew that most food was really bad for us, but those impulses got buried in the pile of brussel sprouts on our plate because we didn't have to like it.... just eat it... Either way, we're all gonna die anyhow, so one may as well eat up... (eyeballs plate of spaghetti and sausage I just inhaled.... the noodles tickly my nostrils...)

1 block of cream cheese (softened), 3/4 cup of your favorite peanut butter, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, "dash" of vanilla extract (almond also works), 1 small tub of cool whip
Blend all ingredients together with mixer
scoop into a grahm cracker crust
let sit in the fridge for about an hour untill it is cooled or firmed up a bit more and keep refridgerated.
you can use all fat free ingredients where applicable and it turns out to be not SO bad for one who is on a diet when you slice it into about 16 pieces per pie.

Sick People Soup - Good for what ails ya!
an onion 4 cloves of garlic can of tomatoes with jalapenos a couple of canned chipotles in adobo sauce a couple cups of chicken stock pinch of sugar, salt, and pepper cilantro (optional)
throw a splash of oil in a deep pot, and cook onion and garlic until softened. Add stock and chipotles. add shredded chicken if you want to dress the soup up a bit, though I almost never do. Bring to a boil, add salt pepper and sugar and simmer 15 minutes or until chicken is cooked. add tomatoes (don't drain). Once heated through, remove from heat.
The soup gets better the longer it sits in the fridge. This is a soup I make when I or anyone else gets sick... it has everyhthing you're supposed to eat when you're sick (garlic, onion, chicken soup, and vitamin c) and makes a really satisfying soup for 3 or 4 dollars a pot. I usually make double because itkeeps so well.
I made this and a Thai chicken red curry soup with udon noodles this week. Nummy.

Sooo... what are we stuffing our faces with this Thanksgiving?
Over here, it's probably apple-stuffed pork chops, mac and cheese, kale, and cherry cake.
