Now that there are other apparent retro-gamers here(or retro-gaming socks of other members), I think we should have a thread devoted to it. What retro systems and/or games does anyone have?
I'll start: Atari 7800 Game Gear Virtual Boy (stereoscopic baby!) I also regularly play NES & SNES on emulators
Current games I play: Final Fantasy VI Chrono Trigger Red Alarm PacMan(always) Nethack Angband

I don't have much of the retroness as far as equipment goes, but I am going to start playing all of the FF games in sequential order in a few weeks, once I am all settled into the new apt. Then I'll get my own copy of C. Cross and work on some of the other dozen or so endings (I doubt I'll go for all of them though). I may also brush up on QBert.

I tried going through FFI, but it was very un-FF like.

Where to begin? Over the years I'be accumulated a great many games and consoles, listed from first recieved to my newest:: NES, Sega Genesis, N64, SNES, PS1, Dreamcast, PS2. In addition to my console collection I've also collected all of the orifinal Mega Man series, Castlevania 1-6, the original Ninja Gaiden trilogy, and every Final Fantasy game released in the U.S., with the exception of Crystal Chronicles (Mr. Billman keeps taking my money for a Cube). Frighteningly enough I also began my escapade to play all of my FF games all the way through and I just finished FF1 before I joined the ranks of the Hall, for the first time I might add.<sniff sniff> . . mmmm . . breakfast's done

Oh yeah , how could I forget my handhelds. I've only invested in those marketed by Nintendo, although not to say I have not yearned for handhelds from other companies. I posess a Game Boy color, a regular Game Boy Advance, and my prize handheld, an original Game boy in excellent condition , no scratches, complete with NUBY Game Light, NUBY magnifier, and NUBY carrying case. It even still has the cap for the link cables. This particular Game Boy and it's peripherals were obtained from a kind merchant at a flea market within my own town for a mere $15. Definitely one of my better finds ;D

hmm . . well . . . yeah, I do that, yheennyhoo, here's Beefbrain's uber-nerd tip o the day: If you ever find yourself playing FF4 (2 in the US) for whatever reason, you will find an item later in the game, that if you don't pay attention to Edge's "dart" weapon menu you may miss, the item to which I refer is none other than the spoon aquired from the wife of Yang after you have hit Yang on the head with athe pan item also aquired from the wife of Yang. .
Long story short the spoon item is the most powerful "dart" weapon in the game, dishing out a vicious 9999 of doooooom! And you thought it was just some warcry for a certain large blue superhero.
