Jack's Pumpkin Spice Ale Draught I just found out that this brew is put out by Anheiser-Busch, which raises a level of alarm in me. Anyways, you would not think that pumpkin flavored beer would be good but I was suprised that it was. Very much like a pleasant pumpking pie. Beside some chocolate stouts this was one of the few beers that really tasted like what it's flavoring was, ie pumpkin, not beer that has a hint of artificial pumpkin flavor deep down in the pallet.
Bruegel Belgian dark amber ale with a very smooth, but dry nutty flavor with a ligh head and a lingering maple aftertaste. I got this bottle from a variety set of belgian beers put out by a US distributer. While most of the beers in this pack had that sweet heat that many strong Belgian ales have this one had a distinct lack of, which I enjoyed.
Bornem Double Ale Belgian, very fizzy maple amber color with a dry roast coffee/nutty aftertaste and slight alcoholic heat. I have enjoyed the other varieties from this brewer though they are best on a slight empty stomach cause the sweetness can be overwhelming after certain foods.
Planter Porter from Boulder Co. smooth rich chocolate/coffee with a citrusy aroma. Dry. Not as good as some other porters because I did not find it too be as creamy. I guess it all depends on your mood.

Brooklyn Brown Ale Location obvious... This comes from a highly regarded micro-brewery and I was not dissapointed. This brew is in the same style as Newcastle but with more pronounced. Initial taste is dry with a slight fizz of coffee and bitter chocolate with a light nutty finish. Following sips bring out the nuttyness more. A good afternoon sipper.

Three Philosophers Omegan Brewery NY This is sort of a Belgian farmhouse ale flavored with sour cherries. This beer smelled wonderful it's nice to take a noisefull before drinking. Like many other Belgian ales this one had that sweetish alcoholic heat to it with a light sourness from the cherries finishing with a dry roasted nutty taste that lingers for a long time. As you drink more the taste of cherries becomes more apperant but never much more than a hint of flavor. In the large bottle this is definatly a good amount of drink, that is best taken slowly however even corking the bottle does not keep the contense from tasting off after more than 3-4 hours. Luckily I only wasted about 1/4 of a tumbler's worth.

Kratos gave me some Fuki Plum sake for Christmas. It was rather good- a lot smoother than the past sake I have tried, with a pleasant fruit taste.

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout This is a winter seasonal brew made once a year. This years batch was 10.6%, but you could barely feel the alcohol while drinking it. These beers are famous for achiving a strong chocolate flavor from the malt alone. The taste was a pleasantly bitter dark chocolate with a dry slightly nutty aftertaste. I do wish however that it was somewhat creamier.

Monkey Wrench Daleside Brewery, England A brown/ruby red ale with a smooth almost creamy maple sweetness finishing with a semi-dry nutty aftertaste. Very Nice. The bottle has a strange story about a monkey that washed ashore in England (I assume a long time ago) speaking a 'foreign tongue'. People got suspicious of the monkey and he was eventually executed as a spy. So the beer is dedicated to monkey rights. I just picked it up cause I've never had a monkey themed beer before and it seemed high time. I have found that overall animal/creature themed brews have worked out well for me. I think the only beer I can remember that was animal themed that I found bad was the Old Slug Porter.

If a monkey is flinging golden or brown liquid at you... it's probably not beer.
