"...the essence of the evil government is that it anticipates bad conduct on the part of its citizens. Any government which assumes that the population is going to do something evil has already lost its franchise to govern. The tacit contract between a government and the people governed is that the government will trust the people and the people will trust the government. But once the government begins to mistrust the people it is governing, it loses its mandate to rule because it is no longer acting as a spokesman for the people, but is acting as an agent of persecution." ----Philip K. Dick

[glow=red,2,300]Ah! My forum seems to have a censor filter! I will look into that...Even though "Philip K. Thingy" does sound pretty funny.... Addendum: censor filter has been adjusted and reduced to zilch with the exception of "sh*thead"; I am amused by the choice of substitution ("meathead") because I think it's funny. Therefore, there is no longer censorship on this board unless I decide to play with you people and turn the word "the" into...say, "rhubarb". [/glow]

I saw the world as the world of the apostolic christian times of ancient Rome. When the fish sign was in use. "He had the sense of a regime that was murderous, not just oppressive, but murderous! We lived in fear of detection by the Romans. We had to communicate in cryptic signs...

Am I the only one who finds it disturbing that our Congress passed a law authorizing the invasion of The Netherlands to free any U.S. serviceman accused of a war crime?

Maybe Atari might be interested in www.raisethefist.com . Its no coincidence that grandaddy Dubya supported Adolf Hitler in his rise to power. "He who controls the present, dictates the future". NWO= Numerous War Opportunities........

I'd have to look up the law on the net somewhere, I'll let you know if I find it. It was passed right around the time we invaded Afghanistan. I know it allows an invasion on the Netherlands cuz the International Criminal Court is located in the Hague.
Just a sad example of what our country is willing to do on the world stage. the u.s. expects other countries to do as we wish, but we don't want to be answerable to others.
Things like this along with the constant stripping of our liberties in the name of "Homeland Security" is why I will eventually give up my citizenship here to become a citizen of Canada. I would personally rather die in a terrorist attack than give up any of my rights and liberties. That, I think, is somewhat more patriotic than putting a flag on my car.

Is anyone aware that the American company UPS is suing the country of Canada? Would you like to know why? --> Canada has its own postal system, which also has a courier service. Well, UPS thinks that this is unfair, and wants to shut down the Canadian postal system. So, an outside company is suing Canada for wanting to keep its own state funded system. Apparently UPS doesn't want other countries to be able to regulate its own affairs...not when the CEO is trying to save up for a summer house in the Hamptons.
My solution ---> Canada should tell UPS to deal with it or get the fuck out

Also-----is anyone aware of the clause in the Patiot Act that allows law enforcement agencies to secretly enter a person's house and search it, without a warrant or having to inform the occupant? Does this not seem disturbing to anyone else? Not to mention the fact that Big Brother, er, I mean the Dept. of Homeland Security can look at records of the books you check out at the library or buy from the bookstore? And they can look at your Internet history? I think its time I stock up on copies of the Quran and The Communist Manifesto.

This is the problem with the Left-wing today. Too ready to spout off Micheal Moore quotes. Fahrenheit 911 makes good points, but the fact that it does so in such a fanatical Left-wing way almost makes it trivial.
