You may have noticed that replying to posts and starting threads in the Mud Pit and the Field of Daisies is now allowed only by MEMBERS; GUESTS are no longer allowed to do these things.
THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY.
I will reset everything to the previously open access that everyone enjoyed once some of you become members. I AM NOT TRYING TO DRIVE YOU AWAY. I AM NOT TRYING TO DISCOURAGE YOU FROM USING DIFFERENT ALIASES. All that I ask is that you register _ONE_ of them (and please use that alias at least somewhat regularly so it isn't deleted!). I enjoy the different names you guys use, but I would really like to have a solid member-base. When you register, you DO NOT have to give any info you do not want to - hell, it doesn't even have to be truthful info (However, I do request a VALID email so that you can receive the various perks that make membership worthwhile!!)! Make up whatever you want, just PLEASE use that account every now and then. I am fine with people having multiple accounts.
Another policy change that WILL NOT be revoked: usually I delete non-posting accounts after one year on the anniversary of registration. That date is now six months after registration if the account is inactive. This will go into effect on 13 July.
I am not trying to be snotty, but I am tired of asking the same thing again and again and feel that as admin, I should do something about it. So I did. I think the action I have taken is a fair enough and workable compromise. I mention that the restriction is temporary - so think of it as a nudge to action. If people still do not register, then I will make this a permanent thing. I don't want to lost the key players in my forums, but this is an important issue to me, so just take the measely second it takes to create an account and appease me. Thanks, and we now return to your regularly scheduled forum. If you have a beef with the changes, contact me about it either here or in a private message.
Oh, wait - you have to be a member to send a private message.... well, there ya go! ANOTHER reason you should register!!
