out of curiousity... how are we supposed to vote for one? it seems like the poll is already closed.
as far as my opinion, make sure the tile is seamless, so it is hard to tell that it is so blocky..
another option that works well, is not a tile, but a long strip. stretch the image using %'s (100% of the screen width). this way you can really get some nice effects doing this.

Dunno... I like the fourth one down... the starfield.
If that makes a difference...

[glow=red,2,400]Hey Thieslo - I checked and the poll was unlocked, so I don't know what to tell you. As for the appearance of the backgrounds, simply check around the Hall, you'll see some of the examples in action and see if they meet your approval. Thpppt. It did not dawn on me until later that I had forgotten to make "no background" an option, so as votes come in, I'll replace the least popular option with that one. Sorry guys! Gearman - thanx for casting an opinion. Your suggestion has been noted. It's nice to see you again - hope you'll be around. [/glow]

I'm still waiting for more feedback from you people on this! Also, I want to know what you guys think of the idea of removing the first page (with Elric) so that when you type in my address, you are automatically at the table of contents. Opinions? Oh, and follow the smiley's eyeballs - vote! If you can't vote, just type a response. The polls are completely unlocked, so I am not sure why people are having troubles voting.

I think it would be good to just go to the table of contents. I usually just type in .../rhoxx/stats.html anyways. I don't think I've looked at the homepage in a year.

Thanx, Atari - I appreciate the input. I was thinking that having the initial page leading into the table of contents was... superfluous (is that the word I want?). I'm still brainstorming on how I want to rework the site: what I'll probably do is close everything off temporarily, leaving up one page from which people may still access the forum (I just got people to come back - why close it now?!) and the guestbook in the meantime. I just wish that a) there was more input about the site re-design (I thought it would be cool for it to be visitor-driven ) and b)there were more people to really stir up the forums. I hereby give everyone a mission - go find _1_ person, and convince them to visit this site, to register and type in the forum (and occasionally actually come back!). It will help out significantly.

Have you ever considered using Flash in your site? I use it at work and it can produce very interesting results with little effort. I have convinced people in the past to journey in here, so I can probly do it again, tho they usually just come in to make fun of me

" This message and the replies following have been moved to "What is the Purpose of Atari?" within the Quagmire in an effort to maintain this thread's topic, the impending site re-design. Thanks....To stir up more discussion, what sort of flash additives would you recommend, Atari, if you were the Site Mistress..er.. Mister...?

To stir up more discussion, what sort of flash additives would you recommend, Atari, if you were the Site Mistress..er.. Mister...? Well, it could be used to put a little more dynamic...ness.. into the page. I think little things are cool, like neat looking link buttons instead of just blue underlined text. It can also make interesting movies, etc...

I've been setting the links to colours more uniform with the page - are they still showing as blue? Atari? Anyone? The goal was to have a complementing color on an inactive link, which disappears when activated, and is a few shades darker than normal when it has been visited.

Er, I'm not quite sure what you mean... I don't see any blue links anywhere on the site, the colors of the links do look nice...
BTW, what perks are there to being a member?

When I was still in school, I could check from other computers to make sure everything looked right. I can't do that anymore. And the perks? Still working on that, since you and I are the ONLY registered members that have made more than one post. There's about half a dozen single-posters registered along with us. One perk I have already used is that registered users are notified when things come up at the site or something is changing.
